Edenton Police Department

                        History of the Edenton Police

Edenton was home to J. H. Robinson also known as “Uncle Jimmy.” He was head of the Edenton police department for nearly half-century. It was said that he had a Seventh Sense that would lead him directly to the culprit. His so-called seventh sense was really intelligent deduction and analysis. He was famed as a detective as far north as Baltimore. His impress on the public mind was so strong, that many a criminal voluntarily surrendered to him because he felt sure he would be apprehended later and the punishment would be more severe.
